upgrading to dundee release
HI @olivierlambert i have the dundee beta 3 installed, so how do i upgrade?
Do i like attach ISO image and restart server and perform new installaltion? or how exactly can i upgrade?
I do not mind to do fresh install if its a better route, as i have no production stuff on my hosts, just lab stuffs
i did but to be honest i still couldn't find an answer to my question
I do not have physical access to my servers, and use remote KVM
so i can mount the ISO, but no USB stick here
also i mean how do i launch the ISO? i saw that link before posting this thread, so wasn't clear there
Mount the ISO in your remote KVM stuff, and just boot on it (boot menu, select the virtual drive and you are done).
I just noticed that all of the hosts i performed an UPGRADE installation on, i can NOT log in remotely via ssh as root, but i have access to the console in XO
I did some NEW install and i was able to login in remotely via SSH. Remotely i mean from another machine, not via the console of XO
So why is this?
I have no idea why. Check the logs on your host to see potential useful info.
Where are the logs located for xenserver?
Like in every Linux distro, in
just checked /var/log/xensource.log and nothing shows up
the thing is it doesnt even open connection because it just says "server unexpectedly closed network connection"
One quick question, in the host i did upgrade on
The ISO repository still show there are iso install images in them and XO reports the content but the ISO repository itself is not mounted on the host and the mount path does not exist anymore either but yet the content is reported on XO and even xenserver desktop client
How do i reconnect or remount to it mounts back again?
My advice to anyone upgrading to xenserver 7
Just move your vms elsewhere and perform clean fresh install.
